From China with Love - Mid Autumn Festival

Hello my lovely friends ...
I miss you all, since a week I am not be here on the blog land :)

In few days ahead is the end of this September,  there is a Mid-Autumn traditions have been thought up by Chinese people, and as my parent and family have this tradition too, I can found Moon cakes on my mom's house.
The main celebrations during the Mid-Autumn Festival are appreciating the moon and eating moon cakes together with family.
I just remember when I was a little girl my mother always making some lantern for me, those are come from honeycomb paper :) or if at that moment she was on busy then she bring me out to go to a store that sell so many beautiful paper lantern, so sorry after years.. there is no more some shops that sell that thing on my hometown, but in bigger city still have.
Although in Indonesia Mid-Autumn Festival wasn't a national event but as we are in the same continent - Asia, then the festivities still felt here..

I have make a card for my parents to celebrated it and not forget to share some picture about that yummy Moon cakes that inspired me to bring my Tilda to celebrated this festival with Chinese traditional clothing ..

I made my card with my fave shape, and using Boo Bunny paper with autumn sense.
some of that paper I cut it out and arrange them for scene, the tree is actually is the image of the paper I do some embossing with Stampendous EP Aged taupe and Versamark pen to have more gorgeous effect.

Really I am so glad to invite Tilda to join in this festive, and she look so beautiful even she wear that traditional cloth, that's made me too more carefully to coloring her ;) and give her a pair of pearl earrings ..
and put the words : Made with Love as well as a Chinese letters : "Ai" that means : LOVE
The Chinese Tilda come from the Bon Voyage Collection 2010

Here are some pictures from the other sides, some dies I used are DooHickey and Lifestyle circles.
Lace from my stash and flowers are Prima Marketing.

Oh I am sorry that I cant take my own picture about the moon cake, because the cake run out quickly by my kids, hubby, my father and mother too .. LoL
but hope you still have a plenty of that yummy smell .. :D (naughty me!)
and if you still want to read about  Stories of the Mid-Autumn Festival you can read HERE , there are a nice story telling about very traditional culture.

That's all my story and creating my friends, hope you will have wonderful days ..

I always love to have a weekend, that is mean my time to see my mother and father  .. oh  I always miss them :))
and I have something to bring home with me,
my parent love some mint candy, he he he .. it's seem like I do!
but I was packed it on a cutie candy box, and share with you the pictures :

I love using Tilda with corn and Magnolia design paper from Turning Leaves 2012
Not forget the newest DooHickey - Tea label tags

From the right and left side, both can be opened, tied with burlap string and Autumn color decoration
I suggest you to use 200gsm paper to make that box, so you will get best result,

The Old Oak was cutting with DooHickey on pale yellow paper, then coloring with distress ink old paper and brushed corduroy using blending tool

My decoration here are : miniature pear fruit and orange flower pistil ( bought on local craft store here ),
flower made by me using puncher; I made it with six daisy petals and decorated with gold stickles,
those old oak leaf come from Carla punch too, using two size CP1 and CP2, to made the Autumn color you can get easy by coloring using your blending tool and sponges Versamagic chalk randomly.

It's all about my Autumn candy box, hope you can make your then having fun with family and friends!
Have a wonderful weekend guys!

TOMIC #57; Sketch + Embossing

Hi Magnolia Lover!

Today is the time for new challenge on TOMIC, we have a fabulous sketch from Liza that you have to follow and we love to see you add embossing technique on your card, you can use dry or heat, oops .. don't forget guys! for this time we asked you to using any Magnolia stamps but no Tilda / Edwin allowed and the most off all.. come and join the fun with us at TOMIC this month :)

Here is my card and it's will be my pleasure if you can inspired by  ..

For vocal point I used Sweet Christmas present from Sweet Christmas dream 2011, I think it could be fit for any occasion, and this card I will give it for my best friend as she have a new home to stay with her lovely family ... oh I just hope she like it :)

Those are the closing view from top left and top right, I did decorate the corners using heat embossing with Chunky white EP from Stampendous.

I took pictures from center look, if you mentioned on .. I did a classic cutting technique called telescoping image, all you have to do is just to have two colored image! as that was hand colored it is not possible to have a perfect pair but don't worry .. just trying to pay more attention for colors combine and shading, so you will get a similar one :)
Then you can cutting them with telescoping masking technique, may be you can take a look here for more clearly.

I bet you must have more inspiration from my teamies at TOMIC they have more lovely works there, come down to stop on TOMIC blog and enjoy with us :)

Happy crafting everyone!

Tilda with carrots - Sending Many thanks

Hi!
Today I wanna share you a card, before I am going to my hometown for the weekend :)

A card with another shape, not a square as this is use to inspired on Stempel-Meggie Challenge and we have a theme to make a card with other shape, and this time I don't use any design paper but I made it using Magnolia stamp : Autumn Oak Leaves from Turning Leaves 20112, stamped with always artichoke color randomly spread with spice marmalade distress ink and blending the background using dusty concord and old paper distress ink, for more accent I did stencil some pasta moulding using Prima stencil brick.

Image I used  is : Tilda with carrots - Turning Leaves 2012 colored with distress ink, glowing her with Twinkling H2O - Indian copper

A big flower I put on here was made from Japanese Washi paper cutting with Magnolia DooHickey - Peony petals, after I cut them I was doing hand crumpled, arrange all the petals and then give it crackle paint picket fence and stardust glittering.

Here is the inside of my card, I let a blank space for writing the message

And I took the picture from left side :)
Hope you are like my card today, and if you have a wonderful weekend too ...

Love,
Yulis
