Merry Christmas from Tropical Island

Hello readers ..

On the 25th of December, I was up on Magnolia YouTube Channel and I share about my projects using the goodies from the Advent Calendar pocket week 4

As you know, I live on the tropical country that have a lot of islands but we do not have snow or winter season.
For me, Christmas is about LOVE and faith .. so, we need a pure heart to celebrate the Christmas instead the snowflakes :)
Anyhow, lots of people enjoy the Christmas holiday overseas and enjoy the winter .. sound exciting though! but some people also have the holiday on the island with the sunlight and picnic basket .. all are good!

These are the set that I made, Christmas gifts could be pack with many ways so I choose a tropical smell for mine :)
You can't go wrong with the gift card if you need a present on the last minutes .. LOL!!!
I show you my card with the gift card holder;

as a chocolate lover .. I always thinking about chocolate on every gift I made .. :) )

You can watch how I made this set on YouTube

Thank you so much for reading
and ..

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone!!!
All the best for the New Year!

Warm wishes from me to you ..

Kitchen on holiday | Advent Calendar week 02

Hi folks!
Here I am again, and so happy to do a blog post again on this week 02 Magnolia Advent Calendar..
When I open all the pockets for week 02, there wss an idea on my mind .. it's about the kitchen on holiday, yeah .. it must be messy yet so fun!

Two cards that I made using stamps and dies from the pockets on this week and they are super cute, I believe I can use them either for holiday and other occasion.

I stamp the images on Canson illustration paper and coloring using several kind of watercolor mediums, while I cut some cold pressed watercolor paper using the dies and doing some water coloring too.
The boards are made from paper, painting with gesso and acrylic paint [I've got this brilliant idea from my best friend Vera, you can check her blog for another beautiful inspiration], and I made faux wooden strips too, you can watch all the steps here :

Build the Snowman - Painting pine trees | Holiday series 03

Hello my dear friends!

I have a fun card to share with you today, and I made this several days ago when I received my stamp kits from Magnolia - Aspen Series.
This image will be my most favorite although all the stamps on this series are super duper cute!

I stamped the image on Canson illustration paper with Archival coffee and color her with distress ink pads, FC watercolor pencils and WnN watercolor

This is the look of my card, I do not put too much decoration because I want the image to be the vocal point on the card, she is really adorable I don't want anything else to cover her.
But however I give her a fun background.

I paint the pine trees using Winsor and Newton watercolor and for the snow effect I use White Ink also from the WnN.

and finally .. I make a simple design using Lawn Fawn paper - Perfectly Plaid Christmas and green twine from American Craft make a perfect combination for the early winter breeze along with the beautiful sentiment also from Magnolia.

Supplies :
Magnolia stamps Aspen series
Mediums : mostly are Winsor and Newton

Thank you for reading.
Hope you'll enjoyed my post today and see you again !

The pine is my own hand painting, I use Winsor and Newton  watercolor for the pines and the background

Supplies :
Image - Magnolia stamp : Tilda with her blanket | Sentiment - Avery Elle
Sequins - Pretty Pink Posh mix sparkling clear  | Canson illustration paper | WnN watercolor pan

Midori insert | Color mixing chart

Hi everyone!

This is may be like a random blog posting from me, but I love to give you my happy sharing about my mixing color chart.
I love to painting some background on my card, I also love to do simple soft painting so I need my own color chart.

Actually, I always follow my feeling to mix the colors when I am painting, but as I am not such a professional painter { yes I am a beginner that want to explore and learn more } I need a guide when I am confuse which color that going nice together.

from all the watercolor I ever have, I am so love with Cotman from Winsor and Newton [and I am dreaming for the artist series .. oneday!]
Few days ago, I was adding another color to my collection ..they are Violet dioxazine and Scarlet lake.
I want to make my another color mixing chart, and will insert it on my Midori.

I am happy with the result I got, many more soft pastel color coming from those colors

I have such a sweet friend, and I am so thankful with all the cute toys she sent to me ..
if you want to find the  beautiful sequins you can buy from her
also this cute little foxy as well. Thank you Paulina !!

as I mentioned before, I always make my color chart as Midori insert.. so I can bring them out wherever I want.

Ok readers ...
Thank you so much for your patient to read all my post today, and hopefully I can be back with my other card soon, bye ..

xoxo, Yulis
